FOLLOW- UP ON HEALTH CARE POSTING

On July 26 I posted "AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA, CONGRESSMAN SCHIFF, SENATOR BOXER AND SENATOR FEINSTEIN ".
I posed several specific questions as to matters related to the
modifications to health care currently under consideration by the federal government. That open letter was posted on Pasadena Sub Rosa, and may be viewed at the following link.
My first reply was from Senator Boxer. It appears to be a computer generated form letter. It was completely unresponsive. It answered none of my questions It didn't even relate in any way to health care.
The second reply was from Senator Feinstein. Again, it appeared to be an computer generated form letter which responded to none of my specific questions. But it did recognize the subject was health care. I note with interest that the opening sentence makes reference to my "...opposition to a public healthcare option...". If anyone can find in my letter where I expressed such opposition, I would be delighted to have them point it out to me.
The closest thing to a reply from President Obama was an E-mail from David Axelrod, Senior Advisor tho the President. Again a computer generated form letter responding to none of my questions. As a matter of fact, I am not even sure that is was intended to be a response to my E-mail to the President. It may have just been part of a mass mailing.
Now
we come to Congressman Schiff. I have yet to receive any sort of reply
from him. So I went to his Town Hall meeting in Alhambra on August
11. Unfortunately, because of the rather poor location I chose to park
my wheel chair, and the noise of the crowd shouting, clapping and
heckling, I was able to hear very little of what was said. One thing I
am pretty sure of is that the written question I had submitted prior to
the start of the Town Hall was never acknowledged or
addressed–notwithstanding the announcement by Mr. Schiff and his group
that such pre-submitted questions would fully addressed.
Looking
back, it is obvious that my major mistake was to assume that those
advocating the current health care proposals were going to be open to
legitimate questions. I was wrong. All I got was a bad aftertaste.
Instead of winning my heart and mind, all the advocates have succeeded
in doing is destroying my trust in them and creating an intractable
enemy.
What can we expect for our future health care system? If Obama's planning to do the same thing with our countries health care system, it will be a great risk because the population in our country is to large compared to Britain and Canada.
