Terrell Hills, Texas is also an affluent suburb of San Antonio with a population of about 5,000 also with its own police force and highly rated school district. 

If you look carefully, you can find an under-market home in Texas to compensate for any decline in value to your property in California.  In the comparison below the buyer picked up a property in San Antonio for $190,000 under market value that is almost double the size of their property in California.
