Recently, a candidate for PUSD School Board was smeared by the Pasadena Weekly for having a pending DUI offense, plea bargained down to reckless driving. As pointed out by this blog there are apparent elected officials in Pasadena who have had similar legal offenses but were never disclosed in the newspapers when they ran for re-election and were never barred from entering PUSD campuses.
Now it comes to light that a Santa Clara City Councilman, and apparent Democrat, has a DUI record that is being similarly glossed over.
I guess all drunk driving arrests are forgiven if you're a Democrat (see below*)

(*Obviously because he is a City Councilman I don't know for sure if he is a Democrat but have deduced it based on the fact that he was a Santa Clara County public defender for 11 years representing indigent drug users, currently teaches "Race and the Law" at Lincoln Law School in San Jose, was supported almost exclusively by unions and environmentalists when he ran for City Council, and has served on an array of housing, planning, air quality and transportation boards.)
