With each new piece of information that Sub Rosa brings to light (and the Star-News ignores) about the reality of PUSD funding --- and these are FACTS, not OPINIONS --- what I think is most disappointing about PUSD's response is the repeated chant of the tired-and-hollow "more money" mantra, the continued reliance on (glaring) omissions and (lying) half-truths, and the lack of remorse about such misdeeds. Especially in the wake of the resounding defeat of Measure CC, it seems like a very bad sign when the Superintendent and BOE won't even PRETEND to have received a message from voters. So PUSD has trashed its own credibility; who believes their tales of woe anymore?

I should note that ABX-4-2 casts a Shakespearian pox on both houses. Those who contended that only parcel taxes could add to PUSD revenues but that redevelopment funds diverted to schools would not add to PUSD funding were wrong. Under ABX-4-2, even redevelopment funding adds to PUSD's revenue base for core classroom activities and teacher's salaries. So the anonymous commenter at the Pasadena Star News named "Pas Parent" or "PAS" was wrong in his or her claim that my math was wrong and that redevelopment funds would not add to PUSD's revenues. The greater flexibility provided under ABX-4-2 creates "found money" for core classroom teacher's salaries. Who knew?
